Following three years of dedicated labor, Pirosmani was dismissed and resorted to street vending in Tbilisi, selling diverse provisions. Despite adversity and disillusionment, he persisted in his artistic passion, creating numerous drawings that mirrored Georgian national identity and spirit. His work was 'found' in 1912 and swiftly gained European recognition. However, in 1916, Pirosmani was deeply wounded by a newspaper mockery of his paintings, leading him to sever ties with the art community and withdraw from society. Living in poverty in a basement, he fell ill and passed away unnoticed on 7 April 1918. His remains were interred in a local cemetery's homeless section, but his grave remains undiscovered. His renown and appreciation only surfaced posthumously, as the true extent of his creativity and artistic essence was fully understood.
